Visit Jessie Calder Garden at the Invercargill Queen’s Garden, Marshwood, (Geoff Genge’s garden and nursery, home of national collection of Salvia),

Maple Glen (famous extensive garden of Muriel Davison and nursery of precious perennials and shrubs) and private gardens of HR Southland members.

Post Conference: Dunedin and Central Otago

December 3

Visit HR Otago members’ gardens by car hosted by Otago members, meet up for lunch

Planting of the new ‘The Nancy Steen Garden’ at Columba College

December 4

Bus to Central Otago to visit Murray Radka’s vast collection of heritage roses

Lunch at Orchard Garden amongst the heritage roses and visit the recently planted Heritage Roses Garden at Pioneer Park in Alexandra.

Return to Dunedin in time for airport drop off to catch the evening flights from Dunedin.

 

Accommodation at St. Margaret's College, University of Otago, Dunedin

St Margarets
There are 225 rooms in the college. The majority of rooms are single with shared facilities. Although facilities are shared (1:6 ratio), each bathroom is private and lockable, and contains a shower, hand basin, and toilet.
 

Cost

Single rooms are available for Heritage Roses Conference  Nov. Dec. 2012.

  • Wednesday, 28 November: bed and breakfast $75
    (NB: room must be cleared on Thursday morning if travelling on the Southland pre-Conference tour)
  • Friday, 30 November: bed and breakfast $75
  • Saturday, 1 December: bed and breakfast  $75
  • Sunday, 2 December: post-Conference  bed and breakfast  $75
  • Monday, 3 December: post conference  bed and breakfast  $75

Twin rooms: there are a very limited number: $115 per night bed and breakfast included
Double rooms: there are avery limited number  $115 per night bed and breakfast included

All prices include GST
All prices include cooked or continental breakfast
All linen including towels provided.

Conference programme excluding garden visits is to held on site.
